Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra)-– The Jordanian–Syrian ICT Forum will kick off in Damascus on Friday, organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j).
According to a statement by the ministry, the event coincides with the opening of the 11th Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Exhibition on Thursday at the Damascus Fairgrounds.
Held in collaboration with Syria’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MOCT), the forum will see “broad” participation from both sides, as more than 80 Jordanian companies are taking part in sectors of telecommunications, information technology, digital transformation, cybersecurity and e-payment solutions.
Jordanian entrepreneurs seek to explore investment opportunities in the Syrian market, as around 75 Syrian companies and sector specialists are also participating.
The activities will also feature a dedicated Jordanian pavilion showcasing the participating Jordanian firms, as well as over 250 Arab and international companies from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Lebanon and global firms operating in technology, telecommunications and digital transformation.
At the ministerial level, a dialogue session will review the state of the two countries’ ICT and digital transformation sectors, as well as technical presentations and an open discussion on priority issues of mutual interest.
Additionally, the two countries’ public and private sector representatives will hold meetings to promote cooperation, investment partnerships and direct networking.
On their goals, these meetings will provide Jordanian companies with an opportunity to present their capabilities, services and investment prospects in the Syrian market, and allow entrepreneurs from both sides to explore collaborative opportunities and joint projects.
