Amman, Oct. 16 (Petra) – Director General of the Department of Statistics, Haidar Fraihat, participated in the 50th meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics and the 43rd meeting of the Permanent Technical Committee for Statistics at the Arab League, hosted by Oman’s National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
According to a Department statement on Thursday, the meetings aimed to enhance cooperation among Arab statistical agencies, exchange expertise in developing statistical systems, and strengthen capacity to support sustainable development.
The meetings addressed several topics, including support for national development plans and strategies, advancing Arab statistical work, and sharing successful experiences in the fields of data and technology.
On the sidelines, Fraihat held meetings with heads of Arab statistical agencies and representatives of regional and international organizations to discuss the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in developing statistical work and promoting digital transformation.
He stressed the importance of Jordan’s active participation in strengthening regional cooperation and developing statistical capabilities.
