Jordan to expand job portal for persons with disabilities

Amman, August 26 (Petra) – Labor Minister Nidal Qatamin said on
Wednesday that empowering and employing people with disabilities is a
top priority of the ministry.

The ministry plans to link its job portal (Sajjil) directly with
Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD)
database records, Qatamin announced at a meeting, attended by MP Dima
Tahboub and officials of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities, the Social Security Corporation, and the Jordan
Chamber of Industry.

The integration will allow job seekers with disabilities to input
their details, disability types, and suitable job preferences,
prompting private employers to post tailored vacancies, the minister
said.

Calling for a unified database among key partners, Qatamin directed
ministry staff to leverage HCD registry data for tailored training,
skill development, and job placement. He also instructed labor
inspectors to strictly enforce statutory hiring quotas for disabled
workers across the private sector.
