Amman, August 21 (QNA) – The Jordanian capital, Amman, will host the second International Conference on Climate Change and Health in the Arab Region (CCHAR-II 2026) from August 24 to 26, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and representatives of regional and international institutions.

The conference aims to turn scientific evidence on climate-related health impacts into practical policies and interventions to protect communities and strengthen health systems across the Arab region.

Discussions will cover the health effects of air pollution, dust storms, heatwaves, rising nighttime temperatures, water scarcity, and climate-sensitive diseases, as well as the impact on children and mothers.

The conference will conclude with recommendations to strengthen cooperation between scientists and policymakers and integrate health considerations into climate policies.

Organizing Committee Chairman Dr. Ahmad Al Salaymeh said the event comes amid rising temperatures and increasing climate-related health challenges across the region.

He added that the program includes 12 sessions and around 68 scientific presentations, covering topics including artificial intelligence, climate-related diseases, and renewable energy. (QNA)
