Amman, Aug. 20 (Petra)– The Official Gazette on Thursday published
approval of Cabinet Decision No. (5962), dated August 18, 2026,
endorsing a joint statement on the establishment of diplomatic
relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of
Trinidad and Tobago, signed in New York on July 6, 2026.
Under the joint statement, the two governments agreed to establish
diplomatic relations in accordance with the provisions of the 1961
Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, effective from the date
the statement was signed.
The two sides affirmed their desire to develop friendly relations and
cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as their commitment
to the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter and
international law, including sovereign equality, territorial
integrity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
