Jordan University Hospital Admits Gaza Children Under Jordanian Medical Corridor Initiative

Amman, May 19 (Petra) — The Jordan University Hospital has admitted
two children from the Gaza Strip suffering from heart conditions and
blood disorders to receive specialized medical treatment, as part of
the humanitarian efforts spearheaded by King Abdullah II to ease the
suffering of civilians in Gaza.

According to a hospital statement issued Tuesday, the children were
received under the “Jordanian Medical Corridor” initiative, through
which the Kingdom continues to provide medical assistance to Gaza.

On Monday, the Jordan Armed Forces evacuated the 28th batch of sick
children from the Gaza Strip, comprising 20 children and 40
accompanying family members, who were transferred to Jordanian
hospitals to continue their treatment.

Hospital Director General Nader Al-Bsoul said the initiative reflects
Jordan’s commitment, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, to
delivering humanitarian and medical support to the Palestinian
people. He added that the hospital has dedicated its medical
resources and specialized personnel to ensure the best possible
healthcare for children arriving from Gaza.

Al-Bsoul noted that since August of last year, the hospital has
treated approximately 57 children from Gaza. Several have
successfully completed their treatment, while others continue to
receive medical care and follow-up services at the hospital. Medical
services have also been extended to a number of accompanying family
members as part of the hospital’s commitment to providing integrated
healthcare and humanitarian support.

He stressed that the hospital will continue carrying out its medical
and humanitarian mission in a manner that supports recovery
opportunities and the continuation of treatment for children and
injured patients arriving from the Gaza Strip.
