Amman, Aug. 25 (Petra)– The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates
Affairs welcomed the United States’ decision to remove Syria from its
list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Majali said Jordan
views the decision as an important step toward supporting the efforts
of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic in reconstruction, advancing
recovery and fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people for
development and prosperity.
Majali also said the Kingdom appreciates the efforts of US President
Donald Trump in taking the decision.
He reiterated Jordan’s firm position in supporting Syria’s
reconstruction on foundations that safeguard its unity, sovereignty,
security, stability and territorial integrity, while preserving the
rights of all Syrians.
