Amman, July 16 (Petra) – Royal Jordanian Air Force Black Hawk planes returned home on Wednesday after taking part in fighting forest fires that broke out in several locations in Syria.

The aircraft spent ten days of field work and intensive firefighting missions.

The dispatch of the aircraft came upon a royal directive as an urgent response to widespread fires raging in Syria due to high temperatures and the explosion of war ordnance.

Jordanian aircraft helped in a series of missions in rugged terrain along with the deployment of ground teams in coordination with Jordanian and Syrian civil defense personnel, which helped to contain the blazes, save lives and property, and prevent them from spreading to villages and residential areas.

Syrian authorities expressed gratitude for Jordanian efforts, commending the efficiency demonstrated by Jordanian crews and the advanced expertise of the Royal Jordanian Air Force in dealing with such emergencies.

The noble mission highlights the humanitarian role of the Jordanian Armed Forces and their commitment to performing their humanitarian role in line with the vision of the Hashemite leadership to extend assistance to brothers in times of crisis and disaster.

Jordan is a regional leader in providing humanitarian and relief aid, as the Kingdom continues to give a hand to brotherly and friendly countries facing natural disasters or humanitarian crises.
