Amman, April 04 (QNA) – Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al Shaibani, discussed, during their meeting on Saturday, bilateral ties and the need to continue joint efforts to expand cooperation in various fields in a manner that positively reflects both countries’ interests.

Safadi and Al Shaibani went over the two countries’ foreign ministries’ preparations underway for holding the second session of the Jordan-Syria Supreme Coordination Council.

They also condemned Israel’s repeated attacks and air strikes on Syria and its incursions into Syrian territory, deeming them as flagrant violations of international law, an assault on Syria’s sovereignty, and a breach of the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement between Israel and Syria.

The Jordanian and Syrian Foreign Ministers reviewed the dangerous escalation in the Middle East and renewed their condemnation of Iran’s unjustified attacks on Jordan and the Gulf Arab states.

They also stressed the need to pursue diplomacy in resolving crises on the basis of respecting state sovereignty, security, and stability in accordance with international law. (QNA)
