Amman, May 19 (Petra) – President of the Jordan Press Association (JPA), Tariq Momani, on Monday met with Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abul Samen to discuss housing needs for journalists.
During the meeting, which was attended by JPA Deputy President Awni Dawood, Momani called for serviced plots of land near populated areas to be allocated to JPA members who have not yet benefited from previous housing projects.
He also commended the ministry’s open-door policy and its constructive engagement with the media.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation. Minister Abul Samen congratulated the newly elected JPA council and emphasized the critical role of media in highlighting government achievements and identifying shortcomings.
“Media is the eye of the public official, reflecting the needs of citizens,” he said, affirming the ministry’s commitment to transparency and the regular dissemination of information.
