Amman, June 17 (Petra) – CEO of Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC), Hassan Hiyari, said the company is working in accordance with an executive plan within its comprehensive strategy to ensure supply security of petroleum derivatives and address all possible scenarios.
According to a JPRC statement, Hiyari noted this plan ensures “continuity” of operational processes with “high efficiency” across all the company’s facilities, enhancing the refinery’s role as a “key” arm of the national energy system.
Hiyari noted the executive plan aims to regulate work mechanisms at the Zarqa Refinery and the company’s facilities in Aqaba governorate, ensuring “full readiness to supply the local market without interruption, even in exceptional circumstances.”
The Zarqa Refinery maintains “sufficient” operational stocks at its site in Zarqa governarate, in addition to the quantities stored at the stations of marketing companies, he pointed out.
These quantities, he noted, are updated daily to ensure a “safe and stable” flow of petroleum derivatives to the Kingdom’s various regions.
Hiyari confirmed the JPRC manages “strategic” quantities of various fuel varieties, aircraft fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, and asphalt, which are stored at the company’s facilities in Aqaba and refinery tanks.
Hiyari affirmed this stock is used “only under absolutely necessary conditions, making it a vital support for the Kingdom’s energy stability.”
On its vision, Hiyari indicated that the Zarqa Refinery “prioritizes” measures to serve the national economy and is “committed to meeting local demand reliably, based on a long record of achievements and commitment.”
Hiyari stated the current implementation plan reflects a “high level of readiness and full preparedness to ensure a stable and secure” supply that meets needs of the local market under all circumstances.
