Kamil Idris Praises Türkiye Visit Results, Reveals Understandings on Several Issues

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris praised the outcomes of his visit to Türkiye at the conclusion of his tour, which included the Vatican, the United Kingdom, and Türkiye, leading a high-level ministerial delegation. He noted that the Türkiye visit was part of the Higher Economic Committee meetings chaired on the Turkish side by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. In a press conference at Khartoum Airport upon his return on Thursday evening, Dr. Kamil Idris spoke about his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish officials, noting that agreements were reached on vital projects and on an effective mechanism for communication and joint cooperation. He described the understandings as constructive. The Prime Minister revealed that debt-related issues, including debt rescheduling and interest arrangements, were discussed during the talks, noting that understandings were reached on the matter. He added that the Sudanese delegation’s visit received strong engagement from the Turkish side, particularly from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as significant support for the peace initiative. He stressed that the Sudanese state requires patience and wisdom to achieve a just peace, noting that transitional justice does not mean impunity. He emphasized that transitional justice must proceed alongside national healing. He further stated that the tour contributes to infrastructure, livelihoods, and basic services, affirming that its results will become visible in the coming days.BH/BH
