King meets with China NPC standing committee chairman Zhao Leji in Beijing

Beijing, Aug. 21 (Petra)– His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Friday
with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s
Congress of China Zhao Leji.

His Majesty said his visit to China is an opportunity to build on the
strong and growing diplomatic relations between the two countries,
highlighting China’s remarkable economic progress and advanced
development.

The King noted that Jordan looks forward to signing several
agreements and memorandums of understanding during the visit, aimed
at enhancing cooperation across various fields.

For his part, Chairman Zhao affirmed that relations between the two
countries, under the strategic guidance of His Majesty and President
of China Xi Jinping, have grown deeper and more substantive, with
fruitful cooperation across many sectors over the past years. He said
the talks between the two leaders during this visit will chart a new
course for the Strategic Partnership between Jordan and China.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen the strategic partnership
between Jordan and China, particularly through expanding economic
cooperation in key sectors. Regional and international developments
were also discussed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of
the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Industry, Trade,
and Supply Yarub Qudah, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources
Saleh Kharabsheh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship
Sami Smeirat, and Jordan’s Ambassador to China Hussam Husseini
attended the meeting.
