Amman, March 2 (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II received a phone call from President of the Swiss Confederation Guy Parmelin on Monday, during which they discussed the current escalation in the region.
His Majesty called for intensifying international efforts to achieve comprehensive calm in the region, and utilising dialogue and diplomatic channels to de-escalate the situation.
The King reaffirmed that Jordan will continue to take the necessary measures to preserve its security, the safety of its citizens, and its sovereignty.
For his part, the Swiss Confederation president condemned the Iranian attacks that targeted Jordanian territory and a number of countries in the region.
