Kuwait Condemns Statements Made by Houthi Spokesperson Against Saudi Arabia

Kuwait, July 21 (QNA) – Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the statements made by the Houthi military spokesperson, describing the accusations against Saudi Arabia as baseless and rejecting the threats targeting maritime security and freedom of navigation.
In a statement issued today, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its security and sovereignty. The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security was an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
The ministry called on the international community to ensure the implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 on the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. It also emphasized that freedom of navigation through international waterways is a right guaranteed under international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. (QNA)
