Beirut, March 27 (QNA) – Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met in Beirut on Thursday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to discuss efforts to reduce regional tensions and Egypt’s support for Lebanon.
According to a statement from the Lebanese government, Salam praised Egypt’s solidarity with his country and its mediation efforts to calm the situation. He also highlighted the seriousness of remarks by the Israeli Defense Minister regarding occupation of southern Lebanon up to the Litani River.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s political and humanitarian support for Lebanon, noting the delivery of 900 tonnes of aid. He also emphasized Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to halt regional escalation and its backing of decisions made by the Lebanese government. (QNA)
