Beirut, March 2 (Petra) – Lebanon’s Disaster Risk Management Unit at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers reported on Monday that 52 people were killed and 154 others injured as a result of ongoing military operations.
The latest figures bring the death toll higher amid an increasing field escalation. The report recorded 221 hostile acts over the past hours, which have worsened the humanitarian crisis and placed further pressure on a strained health sector.
Official data revealed that approximately 6,000 families were forced to leave their homes, bringing the total number of officially registered displaced persons to 28,586.
The report stated that 168 centers have been opened to receive the displaced, noting that only 92 of these centers still have capacity. The unit warned of looming logistical challenges should the waves of displacement continue.
