WAD MADANI, Aug. 11, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri on Tuesday discussed with livestock producers and breeders in Al-Gezira State ways to establish “Production Cities of Hope” to develop the livestock sector, maximize value addition, and increase the economic returns from livestock, fisheries and poultry products. The minister outlined the project’s objectives and the opportunities available in the state, noting that Al-Gezira is well positioned to become an advanced regional hub for animal and fisheries production. He said the establishment of integrated livestock production cities aims to shift from traditional production methods to an integrated system based on international standards, requirements and technical specifications. The initiative would also help develop value chains by improving production, management and marketing, enhancing product quality and strengthening competitiveness in local, regional and global markets. Producers and breeders expressed their readiness to participate in the project and enter into partnerships to develop the livestock sector. They stressed the importance of establishing integrated production cities that provide essential services, raise productivity and economic returns, create new job opportunities, stimulate related sectors, and strengthen the contribution of livestock to the local economy and sustainable development in Al-Gezira State.BH/BH
