Amman, Aug 20 (Petra) – French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday reiterated that Israel’s planned military operation, which includes mobilizing 60,000 reservists to take control of Gaza City, “will only lead to a real catastrophe for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples.”
In a post on X, Macron said the operation “will drag the region into a permanent war.”
He had issued a similar warning 10 days ago and renewed his call for an “international mission to establish stability” in coordination with Egypt and Jordan.
Macron also pledged to recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in September.
