Tokyo, May 20 (QNA) – A strong earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday the Amami Islands in Japan’s Kagoshima Prefecture, with no tsunami warning issued.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake struck off the coast of Okinawa Prefecture’s main island at a depth of approximately 50 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage. (QNA)
