Malik Agar Meets Ugandan High-Level Delegation

Port Sudan, July 3, 2026 (SUNA) — Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Malik Agar, met on Friday with a high-level Ugandan delegation led by Ambassador Joseph Akouot, in the presence of Uganda’s Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Rashid Yahya. The meeting reviewed the overall situation in Sudan. Ambassador Akouot conveyed a message from Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, affirming that the Sudanese file will remain a top priority during his new term. He reiterated Uganda’s firm position of not recognizing any parallel government other than the current Sudanese government. The TSC Vice-President briefed the delegation on the humanitarian situation in the country and the extensive destruction caused by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, highlighting the resulting economic impacts. He also outlined the Government’s efforts to end the war and its vision for a political process, stressing that it must be a purely Sudanese–Sudanese dialogue. Agar called on Uganda to work alongside Sudan and African partners to resolve African issues within the African framework. He affirmed that Sudan attaches great importance to its relations with Uganda, adding that the focus should not be on the past but on strengthening future ties in a way that serves the mutual interests of both countries.BH/BH
