Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minawi affirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Joint Forces and supporting forces will continue their military operations until the liberation of Um Dafug. In a post on his Facebook account, Minawi said, “Those who think we will stop before reaching Om Dafug are deluded and dreaming.” The Governor of Darfur Region extended “a thousand salutes of respect and appreciation to our heroes on the Kordofan and western fronts, who today (Thursday) wrote the finest chapters of sacrifice, steadfastness and courage.” Minawi reiterated that the path of defending the homeland knows neither retreat nor defeat, stressing that the will of free people will continue until a free and democratic homeland is achieved.BH/BH
