Minister checks on ugrades at Omari Border Crossing

Amman, Aug. 18 (Petra) –Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher
Abul Samen, on Tuesday checked on the ongoing improvement and
development works at Omari border crossing center with Saudi Arabia.

During the inspection tour, he reviewed the progress and completion
rates of the various projects included in the tender floated for this
purpose.

He was also briefed on the completed and ongoing projects, which are
part of the ministry’s efforts to develop the center’s facilities and
enhance its readiness, which would improve the work environment and
raise level of services provided to travelers.

He called for intensifying performance and accelerating the
completion pace, in accordance with the approved schedule, while
adhering to technical specifications and the highest quality
standards.

He stressed the importance of completing the project and improving
efficiency of the center’s facilities and level of traveller
services.

On its goals, the project aims to build and maintain restrooms,
upgrade lighting systems and install new light points, install
canopies, and renovate rest areas.

The activities also seek to maintain and develop several existing
amenities and carry out other construction and service works within
the center’s premises.
