Sennar, June 16, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Professor Ismat Gorashi visited the Air Defense Command in Sennar State as part of a tour of several economic and service facilities in the state, accompanied by Sennar Wali Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Al-Zubair Ahmed and Director-General of Production and Economic Resources Engineer Nour El-Din Dawood. The Minister praised the Sudanese Armed Forces for their role in confronting armed militias, saying their sacrifices have helped restore security and stability and create conditions for the resumption of production and services in the state. During the visit, the Minister and his delegation viewed an exhibition of vehicles and equipment destroyed by Air Defense forces during military operations, and were briefed on efforts to protect vital facilities and secure the state. He stressed that security stability is a cornerstone for supporting the agricultural sector and increasing production, underscoring the importance of coordination between civilian and military institutions to advance development and reconstruction efforts in Sennar State.BH/BH
