Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development, Engineer Mohammed Kortikela, met on Monday in his office with members of the General Secretariat of the General Union of the Nuba Mountains, headed by Union President Mohammed Abu Anja Aburas. The meeting discussed a range of key national issues, foremost among them strengthening peace and peaceful coexistence, in addition to the steadfastness of the Nuba tribes and mobilized forces in support of the Sudanese Armed Forces in defending the country within the “Battle of Dignity.” Union President Mohammed Abu Anja Aburas announced that the Union is preparing to hold a general conference for the Nuba tribes to unify visions and prepare for effective participation in the Sudanese–Sudanese dialogue called for by the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC). Aburas affirmed that the Union adopts national issues directly linked to reconstruction and development paths, calling for urgent coordination with the Wali to organize the Union’s affairs and activate the role of native administration as an authentic level of local governance in strengthening social cohesion and stability. For his part, the Minister of Federal Governance stressed the importance of working for national unity, reconciliation, and combating divisive discourse, affirming the need to consolidate peace among all local communities in the state. The Minister directed the arrangement of a series of official meetings for the Union leadership with officials in Khartoum State and various state institutions to facilitate their mission. He also addressed the issue of returnees and displaced persons from South Kordofan, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and address urgent needs through official state channels to ensure effective delivery of support.BH/BH
