Minister of Minerals Meets Delegation of Saudi–Pakistani “Shahd Al-Safa” Company

Khartoum, June 16, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Minerals Nour El-Daim Taha received on Tuesday at the ministry headquarters the head of the Pakistani Investors Forum and CEO of the Saudi–Pakistani company “Shahd Al-Safa,” Al-Sayid Shafqat, along with his accompanying delegation, as part of efforts to boost investment and attract foreign capital into Sudan’s mining sector. The meeting discussed investment opportunities in Sudan’s minerals sector, with the delegation expressing interest in launching projects, citing the country’s rich mineral resources and strong prospects for cooperation among Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. The minister stressed the importance of strengthening economic and investment partnerships with investors from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, noting the depth of relations linking Sudan with both countries and their role as a solid platform for expanding cooperation in various economic fields, particularly mining. He said both sides agreed to hold technical meetings between specialists from the Ministry of Minerals and “Shahd Al-Safa” to explore investment opportunities in exploration, production, and gold refining, especially given the company’s extensive expertise and its ownership of a gold refinery with a production capacity of 350 kilograms. The minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to creating an attractive investment environment by simplifying procedures and providing necessary facilitation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, stressing readiness to fully cooperate with investors and remove impediments to investment projects in order to develop the mining sector and support the national economy.BH/BH
