Amman, July 20 (Petra) – The Ministry of Youth on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), an initiative of the Crown Prince Foundation, to launch the first phase of the “Techno Youth 2025 – Second Cohort / Riyadi-Tech” program under a two-year cooperation framework.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Youth Yazan Shdaifat and University President Ismail Hinti at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The MoU aims to empower Jordanian youth academically and professionally through the development of specialized training programs in vital sectors including information technology, agriculture, water, and communications, aligned with the needs of the local and regional labor market.
Shdaifat highlighted the significance of the partnership with HTU, praising the university’s role as a national model in advancing technical and applied education. He noted that the agreement reflects a shared commitment to empowering youth and enhancing their access to education, training, and employment opportunities in support of the national economic modernization agenda.
For his part, Hinti said the partnership underscores the university’s belief in expanding education beyond traditional classrooms by equipping youth with practical skills that enable them to build their futures.
“We are proud of this constructive collaboration with the Ministry of Youth to strengthen technical education and connect it to real labor market opportunities. We hope this agreement serves as a launchpad for impactful programs that create new pathways for Jordanian youth,” he added.
The partnership includes practical training opportunities for university students at youth centers, the exchange of expertise between student-led initiatives, implementation of scouting programs, and the organization of joint youth camps. It also encompasses cooperation in technical research and development to promote youth engagement in national development.
The first phase of the program is being implemented by the Youth Leadership Development Center at the Ministry and the Career Development and Community Outreach Center at HTU. It delivers specialized training content that integrates entrepreneurship concepts with technical skills through interactive, hands-on approaches, enabling participants to develop innovative projects, enhance their employability, and contribute to the national digital economy.
