Minnawi: Youth Are the Backbone of a Respected State, and Building a Rights-Based Sudan Starts with Their Inclusion

Khartoum, 16-5-2026 (SUNA) – The Governor of Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minnawi, affirmed that youth are the backbone and fundamental pillar upon which nations rely in building respected and developed states based on rights, freedoms, and equal citizenship. In a post on his official Facebook page, Minnawi said Sudan is going through a phase that requires the concerted efforts of young people from all backgrounds and ideas, calling for listening to their visions and working alongside them toward achieving the state the Sudanese people aspire to. He noted that he met with a group of young people who have contributed to the country through their “melodious voices,” inspiring revolutionaries in public squares with revolutionary songs, and through bold national writings aligned with the people’s causes and aspirations for freedom and peace. Minnawi added that he listened to them attentively, expressing his welcome to every voice of free expression and sincere patriotism, stressing that nation-building is incomplete without youth who believe in their people’s causes and are capable of shaping awareness and reviving hope and the spirit of struggle. He concluded that Sudan needs youth who build awareness and work toward a Sudan that accommodates everyone.BH/BH
