MoECC Reaffirms Commitment to Biodiversity Protection
Doha, May 22 (QNA) – Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) reaffirmed its commitment to protecting biodiversity and preserving ecological balance on the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity.
In a post on X, the ministry said it continues efforts to protect native plants and limit the spread of invasive species, including Al Ghawaif (Mesquite plant), due to its harmful impact on vegetation and environmental balance.
The ministry stressed that biodiversity is a cornerstone of ecological stability and sustainability, with forests, oceans, wildlife, and microorganisms all playing a vital role in protecting the environment and securing a better future for coming generations. (QNA)
