Amman, Sept 8 (Petra) – The National Center for Agricultural Research (NCAR) on Monday signed four cooperation agreements with private sector entities to address agricultural challenges, including the Hussein Fund for Excellence, the Jordan Dates Association, the Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables (JEPA), and the Agricultural Union Company.
The agreements aim to strengthen partnerships with the private sector by investing in scientific research and innovation and by developing practical solutions to agricultural problems.
NCAR Director Ibrahim Rawashdeh said the center’s stations across Jordan will be available for applied research led by the center’s experts and researchers.
He noted that the agreements will support entrepreneurial ideas, turning them into applied projects and startups; enhance scientific research in palm and date cultivation; improve the quality and competitiveness of agricultural products in line with international standards; and conduct field studies on pesticide efficacy and safety periods.
