Amman, August 11 (Petra) – National Center for Curriculum Development
and Evaluation ( (NCCD) announced an update on the mechanism to
display approved school textbooks on its official website.

The new option will enable beneficiaries to directly browse materials
without downloading.

According to a NCCD statement issued on Tuesday, this step comes as
part of the center’s commitment to streamlining access for students,
teachers, and parents to browse approved educational content and
protect copyright.

On its feasibility, this move would also ensure availability of books
electronically from their official source, and limit their copying,
republication, distribution, or sale processes without the necessary
permissions from the copyright holder.

The center noted that this decision will not constitute a license
to download, copy, photocopy, reproduce, print, publish, distribute,
circulate, sell, or exploit books for commercial purposes, in whole
or in part, by any means.

The center said the books and educational content published on its
website are subject to the provisions of the Copyright and
Neighboring Rights Protection Law No. (22) of 1992 and its
amendments, which regulate rights of reproduction, publication,
distribution, and public access, and protects works from unauthorized
use.

To dodge any violations, the center urged online libraries,
platforms, and various entities to adhere to copyright and publishing
rights and refrain from extracting copies of the available books on
the website.

Requiring necessary legal approvals to republish, print, or offer
books for sale, the center said this procedure secures protection of
rights of the copyright holders and circulation of officially
approved copies.

The center also advised those wishing to obtain printed copies to
