Amman, August 20 (Petra) – Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp on Wednesday condemned Israel’s decision to advance its controversial E1 settlement plan in the occupied West Bank.
Speaking to Euronews, Veldkamp warned that the plan would effectively divide the occupied West Bank into two disconnected areas, severely undermining the prospects for a viable Palestinian state.
He said that such actions constitute a clear violation of international law.
The Dutch Foreign Minister urged Israel to refrain from taking any steps that would jeopardise the two-state solution, calling for the preservation of conditions necessary for a just and lasting peace.
