Amman, July 9 (Petra) — Firefighting and ambulance crews from the Central Amman Civil Defense Directorate responded on Wednesday afternoon to a fire that erupted in an apartment on the fifth floor of a building in the Dahiet al-Rashid area, according to a statement by the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
The spokesperson said that firefighting teams successfully extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading further.
The incident left nine individuals with varying degrees of burns and cases of shortness of breath. Emergency teams administered first aid on site, transferring two people to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment. The remaining injured individuals did not require hospitalization.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
