Normal Summer Conditions Forecast Through Tuesday

AMMAN, Aug. 15 (Petra) — Temperatures are expected to hover around
their annual climatic averages on Saturday, bringing normal summer
conditions across most regions, while remaining hot in the Badia, the
Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Skies will feature varying cloud cover, with a slight chance of
isolated, light rain showers over parts of northern Jordan. Winds
will be northwesterly and moderate, occasionally picking up speed,
particularly in Badia areas.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), normal
summer conditions will persist on Sunday across most areas, alongside
hot weather in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Medium-altitude clouds will appear, accompanied by a slight chance of
localized rain showers in northern regions, while northwesterly winds
remain moderate and occasionally active.

On Monday, temperatures will experience a slight drop, with normal
summer conditions continuing through Tuesday across most regions.
Weather will be relatively hot in the Badia and hot in the Jordan
Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate northwesterly winds
picking up at intervals.

Across the Kingdom, projected high and low temperatures for today
reach 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius in East Amman, and 32
degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius in West Amman. In the northern
highlands, temperatures range from 30 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees
Celsius, while the Sharah highlands see highs of 31 degrees Celsius
and lows of 19 degrees Celsius.

Further afield, the Badia regions expect a high of 37 degrees Celsius
and a low of 22 degrees Celsius, and the plains anticipate 35 degrees
Celsius down to 21 degrees Celsius.

In the Jordan Valley, the northern sector ranges from 39 degrees
Celsius to 26 degrees Celsius, while the southern sector reaches a
high of 43 degrees Celsius and a low of 29 degrees Celsius. Finally,
the Dead Sea records temperatures between 42 degrees Celsius and 28
degrees Celsius, with the Gulf of Aqaba expecting a high of 42
degrees Celsius and a low of 29 degrees Celsius.
