Al-Obeid, 6-2-2026 (SUNA) – The Secretariat of the Government of North Kordofan on Friday reported attacks by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on relief trucks belonging to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in the areas of Allah Kareem, Al-Semaih, and Al-Rahad, in addition to targeting trucks in the city of Um Ruwaba. The assaults resulted in the killing and injury of unarmed civilians, constituting a blatant violation of all humanitarian norms. In a joint statement, the State Government Secretariat and the State Security Committee condemned the attacks, noting that the militia’s systematic targeting of civilian infrastructure, service facilities, and food and clothing convoys demonstrates a deliberate plan to humiliate the Sudanese people, starve them, and deprive them of their fundamental rights to life and dignity. The statement described the attacks as a fully constituted war crime and a clear breach of international humanitarian law.The statement called on the international community, human rights organizations, and United Nations bodies to fulfil their moral and legal responsibilities, take decisive action, and impose the strictest deterrent sanctions to hold the militia leadership accountable and prevent the recurrence of such brutal violations.BH/BH
