Oman Hosts 66th Meeting of Islamic
Financial Services Board’s Technical Committee
Muscat, 3 Nov (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman today hosted the 66th meeting of the Technical Committee of
the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), which includes representatives
from 18 countries.
Chaired by the Central Bank of Oman
(CBO), the meeting discussed topics related to Islamic finance and ways to
develop the Islamic financial sector.
The meeting saw the launch of the visual
identity of the IFSB’s 17th summit scheduled to be hosted by the Sultanate of
Oman from 2 to 4 February 2026, in Muscat.
The IFSB summit is the Board’s
flagship event. It is a two-yearly gathering that brings together policymakers,
experts and specialists in Islamic financial services.
It is worth noting that the CBO hosted
the 59th meeting of the IFSB’s Technical Committee in March 2023. This affirms the
active role of the CBO in supporting the growth and stability of Islamic
financial services at the regional and international levels.
