Friendship Association Holds First Meeting

Muscat,
18 Aug 2026 (ONA) — Oman-Pakistan Friendship Association (OPFA) convened its
Founding Board Members Meeting in Muscat to strengthen its mission of promoting
friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the Sultanate of Oman
and Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Discussions focused on developing practical initiatives in tourism, investment,
trade, healthcare, and education, including promoting bilateral investment
opportunities, strengthening business-to-business connections, and encouraging
trade and economic partnerships.
The Association will also promote tourism and cultural exchanges, encourage
cooperation among tourism organizations and private-sector stakeholders, and
showcase the rich heritage, natural beauty, and hospitality of both countries.
The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening the longstanding bonds
of friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding between Oman and Pakistan.

The
meeting was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskari, Head of the GCC Department
at the Foreign Ministry; Dr. Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan
to Oman; Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, Chairman of the Association, Eng. Ridha Juma Al
Saleh, Deputy Chairman of the Association and the Founding Board members.
