Tatarstan Discuss Cooperation in Endowments, Religious Affairs
Muscat,
2 Feb 2026 (ONA) — Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and
Religious Affairs, received in his office today Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the
Republic of Tatarstan, as part of his current visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
During
the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the Sultanate
of Oman and the Republic of Tatarstan, exploring avenues to enhance them in
areas of mutual interest, particularly in the fields of endowments (Awqaf) and
religious affairs.
The
discussions included the exchange of expertise in managing endowment
institutions and the promotion of dialogue and cultural and religious
cooperation, building upon the dialogues and consultations held in the Republic
of Tatarstan last November.
Al
Maamari outlined the operational mechanisms of endowments and religious affairs
in the Sultanate of Oman, underscoring the importance of mutual acquaintance, dialogue, and a focus on common interests to
overcome differences.
For
his part, the distinguished guest praised the religious facilities in the
Sultanate of Oman, expressing his aspiration to strengthen relations in the
fields of endowments and religious affairs and to benefit from Oman’s
experience in these sectors.
The
meeting was attended by Oleg Vladimirovich, Ambassador of the Russian
Federation to the Sultanate of Oman, and several officials from both sides.
