Oman Welcomes Decision to Initiate Position of Vice President of the State
of Palestine

Apr (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed a decision by the Palestine
Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee to initiate the position of
Vice-President of the Executive Committee and Vice-President of the State of
Palestine, and to appoint Hussein Al Sheikh to this position.
In a
statement issued by the Foreign Ministry today, the Sultanate of Oman
congratulated Al Sheikh on his new appointment, wishing him success in
performing his duties.
The
Sultanate of Oman expressed the hope that the step would consolidate the unity
of Palestinians and serve their legitimate aspirations to gain all their rights
and establish their independent state.
