Amman, April 8 (Petra) –Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) held an awareness workshop for its employees on the occasion of World Health Day at the Hussein Cultural Center, with the participation of more than 60 workers from its various departments.
The workshop, attended by GAM senior officials, addressed 3 main issues presented by specialists on smoking dangers and ways to quit, chronic diseases, and the safe use of antibiotics.
According to its statement, the GAM said activities aimed to enhance worker health knowledge and adopt healthy lifestyles.
The event also reviewed the municipality’s efforts in combating the smoking phenomenon and tobacco products, raising awareness, and activating smoking cessation clinics (CSC), highlighting their direct impact on reducing chronic diseases and improving public health.
During the event, various activities were held, mainly at the CSC to conduct medical checkups and distribute educational materials.
The workshop is part of the GAM’s ongoing efforts to create a “healthy and safe” work environment and promote worker-related health awareness.
