Khartoum, June 16, 2026 (SUNA) — A Pakistani business delegation with investments in Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in investing in Sudan, citing opportunities in agriculture, livestock, mining, and electrical industries. During his meeting with a Pakistani business delegation at the Ministry of Finance in Khartoum, Finance Minister Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim reaffirmed the government’s commitment to attracting regional and international investment in vital sectors as part of efforts to strengthen the productive base of the economy. He pledged government support for the delegation’s proposed ventures, emphasizing the importance of adding value to agricultural and livestock production through processing industries and strengthening export value chains, in line with the government’s export-led growth strategy and efforts to expand access for Sudanese exports to Arab and regional markets, leveraging their comparative advantages and ability to meet market demand. He also underscored the importance of the electrical industries and energy sectors in supporting the reconstruction of war-damaged infrastructure and creating conditions conducive to the return of citizens to their homes. For his part, delegation head Shafqat said the group is interested in investing in both crop and livestock production, as well as establishing a gold refinery and manufacturing electrical transformers and panels.He noted that the delegation operates in Saudi Arabia and maintains investments in Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.BH/BH
