Amman, Dec. 1 (Petra) – Authorities foiled a high-stakes drug smuggling operation, seizing 1.2 million pills ingeniously hidden inside a road roller and arresting 10 suspects in a series of coordinated raids.
Police said the Anti-Narcotics Department had been tracking the network for two months after receiving intelligence about a planned cross-border shipment. Investigators discovered that the suspects had been stockpiling the narcotics in a warehouse in Al-Rusaifa, concealing the pills in a secret compartment built into the heavy vehicle.
On Sunday, five specialized teams simultaneously raided the warehouse and multiple locations, rounding up all suspects and securing the hidden shipment. The confiscated vehicle and drugs were taken to the Anti-Narcotics Department, with the investigation ongoing ahead of referral to the State Security Court.
