Amman, Sept 15 (Petra) – Jordanian Politicians said His Majesty King Abdullah II has outlined to the Arab and Islamic nations the only way to respond to the extremism practiced by the Israeli government in the region, stating that “the response must be clear, decisive, and deterrent, after it violated all international laws, charters, and norms regarding human rights.”
They told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Monday that the King’s speech was politically deep and constructive, combining solidarity with Qatar and defense of Palestine.
Former Justice Minister Ibrahim Al-Amoush said the King’s remarks at the emergency summit in Doha were expressive, clear, and firm, stressing that solutions with this extremist government must be precise, direct, and not open to interpretation.
He added that the response must focus on pressing international decision-making circles, activating international law, and halting Israel’s violations after it annihilated Gaza, killed innocent people, attacked Lebanon and Syria, and even targeted Doha, which had worked to maintain stability and halt aggression against Gaza since October 7, 2023.
Al-Amoush noted that the King has exerted great efforts to achieve and implement the two-state solution, establish regional peace, ensure justice for Palestinians, halt settlement expansion, and prevent displacement, but the extremist Israeli government persisted in its extremism, acting unilaterally without regard for human life in the region.
He stressed that the actions of the Israeli government prove it is an aggressive state in every sense of the word and that all countries in the region must respond decisively, making Israel reconsider the consequences of its actions, given the failure of international law so far to restrain it.
Former Government Communication Minister Muhannad Mubaidin said the King’s remarks reaffirm that the Israeli government cannot be deterred except by collective decisions, and that this does not necessarily require military confrontation, noting that all countries present at the emergency Doha summit have many options to hold the government accountable.
Hassan Dajah, Professor of Strategic Studies at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, said the King’s speech at the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha was a prominent political statement, distinguished by clarity, boldness, and a positive, unifying tone reflecting Jordan’s leading role in defending Arab causes.
He noted that the King emphasized absolute solidarity with Qatar, considering its security and stability an inseparable part of Arab and Islamic regional security, sending a positive message that strengthens the concept of collective security and lays the foundation for integrated action against regional challenges.
Dajah added that the King held the international community responsible for the rise of these aggressive policies due to its silence and complacency, but he went beyond criticism, clearly calling for a review of Arab and Islamic tools and the development of practical mechanisms to confront the extremist Israeli government, reflecting a positive and practical vision that transcends slogans and underscores the need for collective executive decisions.
He noted that the King stressed that the response must be “clear, decisive, and deterrent,” sending a message of strength and unity, reflecting the desire to build an Arab-Islamic position capable of restraining aggression and protecting Palestinian rights and common interests.
Dajah concluded that King Abdullah II’s speech combined political depth and constructive messaging, linking solidarity with Qatar, defense of Palestine, and the necessity for practical collective action, making it a balanced political document offering a framework for joint Arab-Islamic action in facing challenges.
