Doha, August 04 (QNA) – HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov held a phone call during which they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to advance them. They also explored the latest regional developments, particularly the diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate and strengthen the region’s security and stability.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed during the call the importance of having all parties commit to dialogue and diplomacy, implementing what was agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, to maintain the region’s security and protect the gains made and enhance regional stability.
His Excellency renewed the State of Qatar’s full support for all efforts to defuse tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement that establishes permanent peace in the region. (QNA)
