Doha, August 16 (QNA) – HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the brotherly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Ayman Safadi held a telephone conversation.
The call discussed deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the latest regional developments, particularly ongoing diplomatic efforts and close coordination to de-escalate tensions, in addition to strengthening security and stability in the region.
During the call, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of all parties committing to dialogue and diplomacy and implementing what had been agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This includes ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard the security of the region, preserve the gains achieved, and reinforce regional stability, His Excellency underlined.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated State of Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves lasting peace in the region. (QNA)
