Port Sudan, July 4, 2026 (SUNA) — Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris affirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces are firmly in control of the battlefield, stating that the Greater Darfur and Greater Kordofan regions are on the verge of complete liberation. He made the remarks on Saturday while attending the signing ceremony of the Charter of Reconciliation and Peaceful Coexistence among the communities of Sennar State. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government of Hope’s support for the signed charter and the Sennar Agreement, stressing the need to intensify efforts to advance development and improve public services in the region. He praised the document, describing it as an important message to all components of Sudanese society and a model worthy of emulation. Dr. Idris also commended the efforts of the High Council for Social Peace, which contributed to the completion of the charter as part of its mandate to implement the National Healing Project. He noted that those gathered at the ceremony represented the Sudanese people in all their diversity. He added that, through this social approach, the Sudanese people could become a leading example among nations, emphasizing that the Sudanese people are the country’s greatest asset. He called for drawing lessons from such reconciliation initiatives, describing them as a fundamental driver of development and reconstruction. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the martyrs of the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Joint Forces, and supporting forces, saying their sacrifices had made the gathering possible.BH/BH
