Khartoum, July 9, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Prof. Kamil Idris on Thursday congratulated the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and affiliated forces on the liberation of the border town of Al-Kormuk in the Blue Nile Region from the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The Prime Minister praised the Armed Forces and affiliated forces for their courage and sacrifices, paying tribute to the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity, whose sacrifice, he said, has become a source of pride and strength for the Sudanese nation. He said the liberation of Al-Kormuk marks an important step toward restoring national sovereignty and strengthening security and stability, reaffirming that the Government of Hope is mobilizing all available resources to support the war effort and stands firmly behind the Armed Forces in their campaign to reclaim every part of the country’s territory from the RSF militia. Idris also commended the resilience of the residents of Al-Kormuk and surrounding areas in the face of the militia’s attacks, reaffirming the government’s commitment to restoring essential services and creating the conditions for the return of normal life in the area.BH/BH
