Prime Minister Directs Strict Enforcement of Merit Principle in Civil Service Recruitment

Khartoum, April 7, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris ordered the strict enforcement of merit-based recruitment in the civil service, ensuring fairness and transparency in the competition for government positions. This came during his meeting on Tuesday with Mua’tasim Hajo Al-Obeid, Secretary-General of the Civil Service Recruitment Commission, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation, Dr. Al-Sadiq Jamal Al-Din.The Secretary-General of the Public Recruitment Commission explained that he briefed the Prime Minister on the Commission’s work over the past period, noting that the Prime Minister directed the Commission to resume its functions from its headquarters in Khartoum. Mua’tasim Hajo further stated that he presented a report during the meeting on the Commission’s implementation of the National Government Employment Platform project, which comes in line with the directives of the “Hope Government” aimed at advancing digital transformation across all state institutions. He added that all employment-related procedures—from application and examinations to interviews—are conducted electronically via the platform, contributing to enhanced institutional efficiency and the implementation of administrative reform directives adopted by the Government of Hope.BH/BH
