KHARTOUM, May 21, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris returned to Khartoum on Wednesday following a foreign tour that included the Vatican City, United Kingdom, and Türkiye, during which he held a number of meetings and official engagements. He was received upon arrival at Khartoum International Airport by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, along with several ministers and senior officials. Prime Minister Kamil Idris began his tour in the Vatican, where he met Pope Leo XIV and held discussions on issues related to peace and social harmony. In the second leg of the tour, he visited Britain and participated in a number of activities and events. The tour concluded in Türkiye, where he met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and held a joint meeting with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz in the presence of delegations from both countries. The discussions addressed several issues, including strengthening bilateral relations in the economic sphere and supporting Sudan’s reconstruction efforts. A number of ministers and officials accompanied the Prime Minister during the tour.BH/BH
