Northern State, April 1, 2026 (SUNA) — Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris emphasized the importance of rehabilitating and upgrading the Arqin land border crossing in Northern State, in line with a plan prepared by the Defense Industries System aimed at bringing significant economic and developmental transformation to the crossing.He made the remarks while addressing a joint meeting with the General Administration of Borders and Border Crossings, attended by several ministers and relevant officials.The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the border administration staff, including their Egyptian counterparts, for their cooperation during the ongoing voluntary return process.The meeting reviewed the plan for rehabilitating and developing the Arqin land crossing, aiming to transform it in a way that reflects the country’s bright image and aligns with international standards.It was agreed that voluntary returns would be balanced between the Ashkeit and Arqin crossings to prevent congestion as citizens return in the coming period.BH/BH
